Counseling Services for Adolescents

Adolescent Counseling

At Rain Counseling, we offer expressive arts, activity-based, and talk-based therapy interventions for teens and tweens, depending on the client's presenting problem and preference. Adolescent counseling sessions are 50 minutes in length, and our approach rests on empowering youth to identify, redefine, and solve their own problems according to their self-constructed sense of meaning and identity.

Parent consultation is an integral part of the adolescent counseling process. Once a month, the therapist and client will meet for 15 minutes of the regularly scheduled session to touch base on general themes in counseling as well as any new or continuing issues at school and home. We strive to maintain the confidentiality of our adolescent clients, so these consultation sessions will focus on the client's progress without violating their privacy. We always encourage adolescents to be a part of the parent consultation session when appropriate.
