Counseling Services for Children

Play Therapy

Play therapy is the primary intervention we use with children at Rain Counseling, LLC. We believe that play is children's most natural and authentic mode of communication. Thus, we utilize toys to build the therapeutic relationship with child clients and to help them express themselves the best way they know how. Theoretically, we take a child-centered approach in which the therapist remains nondirective, nonjudgmental, and emotionally supportive while allowing children to take an active role in the counseling session and eventually resolve their own problems.
